Off licence thief arrested

Police in South Armagh would like to thank the local community in Jonesborough for their assistance in locating an offender.

Police received a report of a man stealing from off licence premises in The Village, Jonesborough on Wednesday, 13th November, 5.45pm.

Police attended and the 36 year old male was apprehended on Edenappa Road. He was arrested and subsequently charged with two offences of theft relating to incidents at the off licence premises on 28th October and 13th November.

He will appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on 11th December, 2013 and as is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Constable Smart, Newtownhamilton Response told Newry Times, “We would like to thank the local community who made us aware of this incident and assisted us with information to help locate the male. This joined up working enabled us to make an arrest and bring this male before the courts to answer theft charges.”
