Community, What's On
Cuan Mhuire Newry are hosting a Christmas Bazaar this Saturday (23rd November) and Sr Consilio Fitzgerald, founder of Cuan Mhuire, has extended an invitation to all to come along and enjoy the day. Sr Consilio, who founded Ireland’s largest voluntary provider of support and rehabilitation treatment for individuals suffering from addiction and other related issues, said, “We couldn’t continue our work without the wonderful generosity of families, community and individuals. “We really appreciate their support. On behalf of the Cuan Mhuire family I extend an invitation to all to feel free and call into our Christmas Bazaar at our Newry Centre on the Old Dublin Road this Saturday between 2pm and 6pm.” Newry and Morne Mayor Michael Ruane visited the Cuan Mhuire Centre to offer his and Newry & Mourne Council’s continued support to Sr Consilio and her staff. “Cuan Mhuire since its formation in 1966 by Sr. Consilio, has treated over 75,000 people. “Now more than ever the life saving and changing services on offer from Cuan Mhuire are desperately needed and I wish Sr Consilio and the Cuan Mhuire family well in their continued endeavoured to help those in need,” the Mayor added.
