Teens arrested for assaulting Newry police
Police in Newry have charged a 17 year old man with disorderly offences.
Police were on patrol when they apprehended two men who were disorderly and under the influence of alcohol in John Mitchell Place shortly after midnight on Friday, 1st November.
The 17 year old man was arrested for disorderly behaviour, assault on police and resisting police.
He was further arrested for criminal damage to a police vehicle and was subsequently charged to appear before Newry Youth Court on 15th November.
A 16 year old man was also arrested for possession of Class A drugs and disorderly behaviour. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.
As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
