Police in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary at commercial premises in Monaghan Street in the early hours of Thursday 19th September. It is believed that entry was gained to the premises between 5 and 6am and a sum of cash was taken along with a number of watches and a wedding/engagement ring set. The rings are both platinum with the engagement ring bearing 3 white diamonds and the wedding band set with small white diamonds all the way around the ring. Police would ask that anyone who may have been offered any of these items or who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact them in Newry on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111
