In the past four years, Menarys and Tempest stores, including the Menarys Fashion Store and Home Store in Newry, have collectively raised over £50,000 for the charity.
A ‘Pink Saturday’ is being organised for 26th October when stores will have a focus on raising funds and in-store fun with treats for customers and the sale of the charity’s pink pin badges, raffle tickets and distribution of breast cancer awareness information.
A new leaflet is available in-store targeting Mothers and Daughters’, as well as all women in general, providing advice about screening and regular self checks, and encouraging women to talk about screening.
Action Cancer is the only charity that provides breast screening for women aged 40-49 and 70+ and last year the charity screened over 8,500 women.
