Rogers congratulates groups on new minibus for Annalong

South Down SDLP MLA Seán Rogers has welcomed the joint up approach to achieving a new minibus for the community of Annalong.

Speaking to Newry Times, Rogers said, “As a former member of Newry and Mourne Community Transport, I am delighted that this new minibus has been secured for the area.

“This bus has been achieved through the hard work of the Lower Mourne Gaelic League and the Annalong Community Association.

“This 16 seater bus which can accommodate 5 wheelchairs will be used to transport young people to the services of the local Gaelic League as well as being used by the whole community including the elderly who could be rurally isolated.

Rogers added, “This is an excellent initiative and I wish to praise my party colleague Cllr Brain Quinn who is the current Chairman of Newry and Mourne Community Transport. This new bus will target those who live in rural, remote areas and will strive to eradicate social exclusion.”
