Police investigate ‘malicious’ house fire in Newry

Police in Newry are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire at a house on Chapel Road.

Police received a report of the fire at 1.18am on Wednesday, 26th June and NIFRS attended and dealt with the blaze.

The house was extensively damaged as a result of the fire and it is being treated as malicious.

Police are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to the fire to contact them.

A number of cars were parked at Murray’s Corner at the time and police would particularly like to hear from anyone who can recall these vehicles.
