Police investigate ‘malicious’ house fire in Newry

Police in Newry are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire at a house on Chapel Road. Police received a report of the fire at 1.18am on Wednesday, 26th June and NIFRS attended and dealt with the blaze. The house was extensively damaged as a result of the fire and it is being treated as malicious. Police are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to the fire to contact them. A number of cars were parked at Murray’s Corner at the time and police would particularly like to hear from anyone who can recall these vehicles. Police in Newry can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.
