Ulster Rugby rolls out girls’ summer camps

Ulster Rugby has announced a local Girls’ Youth camp as part of its 2013 Summer Camps programme.

Following on from the successful Girls Youth Camps last year, Ulster Rugby has revealed that a camp for girls aged 12-17 years will take place at Armagh Rugby Club in August.

The Armagh camp will take place over three days (5th-7th August) and no prior experience of the game is necessary to take part.

The aim of the camps will be to introduce and develop key rugby skills in a fun and safe environment, under the watchful eyes of qualified and experienced coaches.

At a cost of £30, the participants will not only receive a full coaching programme delivered by Ulster Rugby coaches, but will also take away an Ulster Rugby t-shirt, rugby ball and boot-bag, as well as a ticket voucher for an Ulster match at Ravenhill.

Armagh girl Zoe Templeton, who works as a Female Rugby Officer at Ulster Rugby, commented; “Following on from the success of the two camps last year, Ulster Rugby felt it was important to add a third location to meet the demand.

“The recent success of the Ireland Women’s squad winning the Six Nations Grand Slam, has thrust women’s rugby into the spotlight and this has resulted in more and more young girls looking to give it a go.”
