Sonas harp ensemble play at international conference
On Wednesday evening last the Sonas Harp Ensemble were featured performers at an international conference event promoted in Drogheda by NASCO.
The Carroll School of Harp ensemble got to perform to an international audience, meet government ministers and were even featured on the RTE evening news.
The Sonas Harp Ensemble performed for almost an hour and were delighted by the applause and warm comments from the international audience.
“The girls played superbly,” said Ensemble founder Sharon Carroll. “We had comments from visitors from Iceland, Sweden, Europe, America and everyone in between! Everyone praised the music and the Sonas Ensemble.”
NASCO is holding this international conference in Ireland for the first time and couldn’t have been more pleased with the harpists.
“This conference will continue the key work of NASCO, using the best scientific information, and international cooperation to conserve and manage Atlantic salmon populations. All attending NASCO were very impressed with the music and the harps,” Sharon insisted.
