Police charge man, 42, with attempted rape after Newry incident

Detectives from the PSNI’s Rape Crime Unit have charged a 42 year old man with the Attempted Rape of a woman, Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and two counts of Criminal Damage.

It is believed the charges are in relation to an incident which occurred in the Newry area in the early evening of Wednesday, 26th June

Police told Newry Times he is due to appear at Armagh Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, 28th June.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
