Buttercrane launches free summer Kids Club
Buttercrane Shopping Centre has launched a summer Kids Club programme which will provide 4 weeks of free childcare, art, music and performance workshops for over 900 local children.
The initiative, part of Buttercrane’s focus on local families, is a first for the shopping centre and will be fronted by Buttercrane’s new mascot Roary the Tiger who is hot footing it from Safari to join to the fun which commences on Monday 15th July and continues to the end of August.
50 workshops will be offered free to children over 4 weeks. Workshops are open to children from 18 months up to 12 years – check website for specific workshop details.
Peter Murray explained, “This year we are focusing on the number of local families and mums who regularly shop at Buttercrane and during the summer we decided to reward them with some exciting free workshops designed for children.
“We’re delighted to be working with a number of excellent local providers to deliver our Kids Club namely Jumping Clay, Sticky Fingers, the Mobile Crèche Service and Sheridan Stage School.”
“We realise that many families are not able to go on a holiday this summer or book into summer schemes due to cost, so we took the decision to provide the scheme for free to all children taking part,” Peter added.
The Kids Club, located in a fully fitted, dedicated unit in the centre, will play host to 910 children during the 4 weeks it runs. Children will have the chance to make their very own Roary badge with Jumping Clay, get messy on the mall with Sticky Fingers Children’s Art, be creative with dress up, storytelling, arts and play with the Mobile Crèche Service and express themselves through music and dance in a jungle themed workshop designed by Rozlyn Sheridan.
Roary the Tiger will also be hosting ‘Safari Saturdays’ on the Mall throughout August to bring kids up close and personal with interesting animal friends from his Safari travels.
Buttercrane Kids Club celebrations end with a special party where all the children who took part in workshops will be invited to a special audience with Roary the Tiger on Saturday the 10th August where the children will be the first to hear his new rap and mums will get some special giveaways.
