SRC Business Studies students graduate from UK Career Academy Programme
Southern Regional College Business Career Academy students, from the Extended Diploma in Business programme, recently graduated from the UK Career Academy at an event held in the Institute of Education in London.
The SRC Business Career Academy, which is run in conjunction with their two year Level 3 programme, provides students with one-to-one mentoring with employee volunteers, talks hosted by business partners, visits to employers and a six week internship.
The programme is designed to help young people raise their aspirations and prepare them for a career in business and offers businesses an opportunity to engage in a new level of business and education partnership.
To celebrate this achievement the College had a celebratory event for the students, parents, partners in business and representatives from local businesses who have all supported the innovative national programme.
Doreen Finnegan and Joanne McEvoy, SRC Career Academy coordinators, stated, “We want to thank all our business partners for their generous cooperation, particularly in such a tough economic climate.
“It is through their support that our students have the opportunity to get a real and meaningful experience of a professional work environment.
“The internships and Partners in Business have an inspirational effect on our students, giving them a sense of the range of careers out there and develop their confidence to pursue their interests and passions,” they added.
