Women’s Newry Mini-Marathon launched
After the outstanding success of last year’s Newry & Mourne Women’s Mini Marathon organised by 26 Extreme, the event is back with a bounce and is being supported by two local businesses.

Recently signed sponsors Curves, Newry and the Well Fit Café have come on board to support the event which takes place on 28th July and is expected to draw up to 600 women to Rostrevor to compete for the event which is part of the Fiddlers Green International Festival.
Lucy Cumming of 26 Extreme said, “The race route is from Leitrim Lodge downhill, to Newtown Road and through Kilbroney Park. The mini marathon is an official distance race and has been affiliated by the Athletics NI to be a certified personal best race.
“Last year we had in excess of 400 women involved from all parts of Ireland but as the reputation of the race and the publicity Kilbroney Park has enjoyed in recent months we’re anticipating close to 600 women will take part to clock their personal best times.”
Curves Newry is supporting the event as part of their ten year anniversary celebrations while the Well Fit Café (which promotes healthy, clean food) is due to open its doors on the 1st July and is supporting the event as part of its launch activity.
