Buttercrane Shopping Centre is celebrating National Smile Month (20 May-20 June) with a series of activities designed to put a smile on shopper’s faces. Apple Tree Dental Care, Newry, was in the centre on 1st and 2nd June (2-4pm) for a special ‘Smile’ Clinic and special ‘tooth friendly’ giveaways for kids. Hygienist Zara Philips was also on hand to tackle any questions about dental health and give children demonstrations and tips on brushing techniques to help keep smiles in top condition. Buttercrane have also joined forces with Pillo Hotel, in Ashbourne County Meath and Tayto Park to give you a family summer holiday to smile about. Centre Manager Peter Murray explained, “We’re running the competition through our Facebook page and inviting you to share your funny or smiling pics of family, friends and pets; or jokes – really anything that makes you smile. “There are many worries for families today about income and employment and no money to go on holidays this summer so we wanted to do something to bring our customers a ‘feel good factor’. Kids smile an average 400 times a day and maybe as adults we need to take our lead from them.” Three summer holiday prizes are up for grabs: a 2 night stay at Pillo with dinner and a family pass to Tayto Park, Ashbourne Co Meath and two, 1 night B&B stays at the hotel with family pass to Tayto Park.
