New signage secured for Camlough Road roundabout
Sinn Féin MLA Mickey Brady has welcomed the news that additional signage is to be erected at the Camlough Road roundabout.
Speaking to Newry Times, Brady said, “I was notified by members of Sinn Féin’s Hughes Grant Watters cumann who live near this stretch of road that drivers were choosing the wrong lane on approach to the roundabout causing potentially dangerous lane crossing on the roundabout.
“I twice wrote to Roads Minister Danny Kennedy to request a meeting with him on this issue and while he was not available to meet he did request Roads Service personnel to look into the matter.
“These officials have reported that they identified some ‘lane indiscipline’ at this junction and they have recommended that additional signage be included in this financial year’s work programme.
Brady added, “I am happy with this outcome and I will continue to monitor the traffic at this busy roundabout.”
