‘Effort needed to retain and support local Housing Executive District Offices’ – McGinn
Speaking after attending a recent meeting of the NI Housing Council, Newry and Mourne Councillor Pat McGinn stated that it was important that every effort had to be made to retain and support local Housing Executive Offices.
The Councillor explained, “At the recent Housing Council meeting in Enniskillen a presentation was given to members on the “Revised Management Structures within Housing and Regeneration” with the focus being on the “Hub” Model.
“The Newry Office has initially been identified as a Hub location for the Newry and Downpatrick area and hopefully this will be confirmed. This is to be welcomed, however it is important that resourcing levels in Newry and all other offices are maintained to ensure effective and efficient community services.
“Buildings aren’t much good if they are not fully resourced. I have asked Newry and Mourne Council to invite the Housing Executive to outline to elected representatives their vision for its “Hub” Model and its specific relevance to the Newry and Mourne area,” McGinn added.
