Doran condemns Kilkeel anti-social behaviour
Sinn Féin Councillor Sean Doran has condemned a spate of anti-social behaviour that took place in Kilkeel on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th April.
Speaking to Newry Times, Doran commented, “Last Monday evening a number of youths threw eggs at passing cars, motorcycles and pedestrians on the Scrogg Road.
“This type of behaviour is simply unacceptable, not only does it damage vehicles but it can also put peoples’ lives in danger, with one man losing control of his motorcycle after being struck.
He continued, “The unwanted behaviour continued into the next day when a large number of youths began driving mopeds on a grassy area of Hillside Drive off Newry Street.
“Children as young as five years old who were playing in the area at the time were put at risk by these people, who had no concern for anyone’s safety, including their own.
Doran added, “In the past six months the rate of anti-social behaviour in these areas of Kilkeel have dropped dramatically, and I will be urging the PSNI to deal with this small amount of unacceptable behaviour before it begins to get out of control.”
