‘Clontifleece Primary School meeting constructive’ – Ruane

Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane has said that the meeting at Clontifleece Primary School was a constructive meeting.

Ruane stated, “The local CCMS has identified Clontifleece Primary School as being one which is in danger of closure and I attended the meeting last night to work out a way forward.

“The important thing to remember on all of this is the ability to provide a first class education to all the children in the area. I went to the meeting to listen to the committee and give my advice on a way forward that will take into account the needs of the children.

“While I understand the attachment to many schools across the North there also remains the fact that we need to modernise our school estate to meet the demands of 21st century education.

She added, “I will continue to work with the committee in order to find the best solution that will give all the children in the area the best possible education.”
