Man suffers head injuries after Newry assault

Police in Newry are appealing for information following an assault in Sandy Street on Friday afternoon, 26th April.

It was reported that at approximately 3.15pm, a 42 year old man was pulled from a van and assaulted by a number of men. The injured man sustained head and facial injuries which required medical treatment.

Three males, aged 57, 30 and 27 years old, were arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent. They were later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
