Police uncover £300,000 in contraband cigarettes in dissident republican investigation
During a planned search in South Armagh yesterday, Saturday, 20th April by Detectives from the Serious Crime Branch they uncovered a large quantity of contraband cigarettes, believed to be worth approximately £300,000.
The searches are linked to ongoing dissident republican investigations and the PSNI also uncovered around 66 bottles of contraband alcohol and approximately £50,000 in cash.
A 31 year old female was arrested and released pending further enquiries. HMRC are assisting the police with their enquiries.
