‘Face of Buttercrane’ Top three revealed

The Buttercrane Centre’s style team has been kept busy over the last couple of weekends sourcing this year’s finalists for its ‘Face of Buttercrane’ competition.

Talent spotter Pauline O’Malley has been ably assisted by Buttercrane’s Personal Stylist Amanda Rafferty in organising the competition as well as Buttercrane’s fashion shows which run as part of Newry Style City’s activities.

The seven finalists who where selected for the shortlist from the many candidates who threw their hats into the ring (or should that be stilettos on to the catwalk?) were: Megan Bradley (21), Noleen Byrne (19), Deirbhile Craven (17), Katie Dinsmore (17), Orlagh Flynn (18), Kelly Kearney (18) and Kim McConville (21).

Following the weekend’s Buttercrane Centre Wedding Fayre’s series of fashion shows, Deirbhile Craven from Newry, Katie Dinsmore from Warrenpoint, Kelly Kearney from Camlough have been selected as the top three ‘Face of Buttercrane’ contenders.

These three ladies will now take place in this Friday’s Newry Style City’s Style Awards and will also get to experience a taste of model life as they will be taking part in Buttercrane’s Beautiful Style Day this Saturday (20th April).

They’ll be modelling in fashion shows which will take place in the shopping centre on the hour from 1pm to 4pm.

Peter Murray, Buttercrane Centre Manager said, “I wish each of them the best of luck as they embark on this opportunity, which by all reports can be quite a confidence boost and life changing experience.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to Gifted Hair & Beauty Salon in Meigh, who have kindly helped make our finalists and the other models catwalk-ready for Buttercrane’s series of Newry Style City fashion shows.

“May I also take this opportunity to thank Pauline and Amanda for all of their hard work in searching for models and help in putting the shows together. Finally it would be amiss of me not to publicly acknowledge my thanks to the talented seamstress connected to the local Southern Area Hospice Shop.

“At our Wedding Fayre on Saturday past, she totally transformed second-hand wedding dresses into unique works of art that we displayed in our catwalk shows and which I’m sure would more than do justice to any bride on her special day.”

The winner of the ‘Face of Buttercrane’ will receive a £200 Buttercrane Gift Card and reign supreme for the rest of the year as the star of many of Buttercrane’s fashion shows and photo shoots. The two runners up will each receive £50 as well as opportunities to also feature in Buttercrane’s fashion promotion activities.

Buttercrane Centre’s Street Style competition has also just got underway. This is an opportunity for the public to get in on the act and have their say by voting for their favourite contender.
