Councillor welcomes Translink rethink on local bus service
Crotlieve Sinn Féin Councillor Mick Murphy has expressed his delight that Translink has taken note of his representations and reversed an earlier decision to cut the last bus from Newry to Warrenpoint.
Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor Murphy said, “I had been horrified to hear of the proposed cut of the 10.10pm Newry to Warrenpoint bus service, knowing the impact this would have on local businesses and local workers and made my feelings known to Translink.
Murphy added, “I am delighted that, as a result, they have now decided to maintain this vital service.”
