Call for entries for Northern Ireland Social Work Awards 2013
The closing date for entries for the Northern Ireland Regional Social Work Awards is Friday 29th March 2013.
The awards, which are now in their third year, will showcase some of the most innovative work being carried out by social workers across Northern Ireland.
Organised by the Health and Social Care Board, NI Social Care Council and local Health and Social Care Trusts, the awards recognise the efforts of social workers and highlight the positive impact of the profession on individuals, families and communities.
Paul Morgan, Executive Director of Social Work for the Southern Health and Social Care Trust said, “Social workers play an important role within our communities but much of this goes unnoticed.
“They help people get back on their feet, help to protect our children, and help to foster stronger families and communities across Northern Ireland every day. These awards give us the opportunity to give these inspirational professionals some well deserved recognition.”
Fionnuala McAndrew, Director of Social Care, Health and Social Care Board added, “The calibre of the finalists and winners for 2012 was most impressive, demonstrating the innovative practice undertaken by our social work profession.
“I look forward to another year of inspiring entries. I believe it is very important that we acknowledge the members of our profession and that we honour the often unrecognised stories of caring and courage which our colleagues demonstrate.”
