Community, What's On
Stand-up superstar Andrew Maxwell will make his way to Sean Hollywood Arts Centre on Saturday 9th of March 2013 in what is a great coup for Newry. Andrew is undoubtedly one of the hottest comic talents around at the moment. A hugely successful comedian, Andrew has won many awards including an Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, a Time Out Live Award in the category of Best Stand-up, a Loaded Magazine Award for best stand-up and Chortle Award for best contribution to the live comedy circuit. He was also recently voted Best Irish Comedian by the public at the awards. Notable appearances have included several sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival, The Secret Policeman’s Ball, at the HBO US Comedy & Arts Festival in Las Vegas (alongside Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock). He also had several sell-out runs in the main house of The Soho Theatre, Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, Glastonbury and the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival. Andrew’s TV appearances include ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Wall of Fame’, ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’, ‘Have I got News for You?’, ‘Argumental’, ‘Celebrity Juice’ and ‘Mock the Week’. On the night Andrew will be supported by local rising star Paddy McDonnell. The wise cracking Paddy is currently touring his very well received ‘Dagger’ show and he is the perfect man to get the crowd going before the main man arrives. Tickets at only £15 are on sale now from, Carlin Records and Sean Hollywood Arts Centre.
