Local politicians attend Barcroft Action Cancer Bus
Sinn Féin representatives attended the Action Cancer Bus on Friday, in Barcroft, to pledge their support for this worthwhile event. In attendance were MLAs Megan Fearon, MP Conor Murphy and Councillor Valerie Harte.
Speaking after the event councillor Harte said, “The Barcroft Community Association must be commended for their hard work in ensuring that this event happened today. It is vitally important that local people support and avail of this free service.
“It has been proven that early detection can be the difference between life and death and a service such as this is one way of ensuring that early signs of disease are detected and treated.
Harte added, “The staff and the sponsors of the ‘Big Bus’ are making a huge contribution to the well-being and good health of our communities and they should be recognised for this valuable work.
“I as an elected representative want to pay gratitude to the volunteers of Barcroft Community Association for their commitment and attention to the residents of this district. It is a credit to them to be able to secure the ‘Big Bus’ in this area, I would encourage them to continue their hard work.”
