Drunk man arrested after fleeing scene of collision

Police in Newry have arrested a 47 year old man on suspicion of driving whilst unfit following a road traffic collision on Main Street, Newry.

At around 8.30pm on Sunday, 10th February, a green Toyota Avensis car was in collision with a blue Range Rover and the driver of the Avensis was described as being drunk and made off from the scene.

Officers later located the vehicle and the 47 year old man was arrested. He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
