St. Paul’s win Southern Area league title

For the first time in the schools’ history all three of St Paul’s High School’s netball teams progressed to the Netball Northern Ireland Southern Area League finals hosted in Lisburn Racquets Club.

While the Minor and Junior teams both lost their matches against The Sacred Heart Grammar School and Cookstown High School respectively, the Intermediate team recorded an historic win over local rivals Sacred Heart Grammar Newry with a win 21-19 goals.

The St Paul’s team now progress to NNI Intermediate League quarter final where they will meet the South Eastern Champions.

Team Coach Mrs Paula O’Hare-Armstrong said, “While having three teams in the final was stressful it was a great achievement for the school and shows how much netball has improved in our school.”
