McCreesh remembers 37th anniversary of the Reavey murders
Fews area Sinn Féin Councillor Jimmy McCreesh has said that the Reavey family deserve to know the truth about the killing of their loved ones, whose 37th anniversary occurs at this time.
Brothers John Martin, Brian and Anthony Reavey were shot dead in their home in January 1976 by three masked men.
Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor McCreesh said, “My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Reavey family on the anniversary of these three young innocent men.
“The sheer terror that was visited upon this family on that fateful night does not bear thinking about even after the passage of time.
“The Reavey family are well known and respected in the Whitecross area and further afield and they deserve to have closure especially given the length of time since these terrible events,” he added.
