Rogers congratulates SRC GAA success

South Down Assembly Member Sean Rogers has congratulated the Southern Regional College GAA team on winning the Division 3 final of the Higher Education Divisional Football competition.

Speaking to Newry Times, Rogers said, “The victory in Meath over Marino College Dublin is more than just a victory; it is a breakthrough and fitting reward for the efforts by the management and players made during the past three or four years.

“I offer my heartiest congratulations to the joint managers Mark Copeland and John Boyle for the pride they have installed in the Southern Regional College and I also pay tribute to the panel of players led by team captain Gerard McNulty that combined to bring the Irish Daily Mail Cup to the College.

The SDLP representative added, “The victory is a great achievement that will no doubt help develop the GAA within the college and hopefully it will be just the beginning of even greater sporting days to come”
