Newry Net Ball Club are delighted with the success of their squad in the recent selections made by theRepublic of Ireland.

Six girls will be taking their places in January 2013: Kerry Davidson, Nicola O´Gorman, Kirsty McKevitt, Sara Armstrong O’Hare, Catriona McArdle and Nicole Sheridan. The Mayor Cllr John McArdle congratulated the girls on their selection and he made a presentation to them and wished them every success with their national selection. He realised the big commitment they were making both financially and with their free time because netball is a sport that receives little financial support. The Mayor also made them aware that as elite athletes representing Ireland the girls will be entitled to use the gym and swimming pools in Newry and Kilkeel. The Myaor added, “This is indeed a big boost for netball in the area and we are all watching out for our girls and wishing them all the best.”
