Bradley commends Crossmaglen Rangers Ulster Final success

SDLP MLA for Newry and Armagh and a member of the Assembly’s Culture Arts and Leisure, Dominic Bradley has congratulated Crossmaglen Rangers on their victory over Eoghan Rua Killcoo in the Ulster Club Championship final.

“The Rangers have shown once again why the are the kingpins of All Ireland with this their third Ulster title in a row and tenth title in all. I congratulate their players, management, and fans.

“I join with my colleague John Campbell in saluting Port Mór who achieved a historic victory at junior level to bring this title to Armagh for the first time. They set the scene in style for Crossmaglen’s victory at senior level.

Councillor Geraldine Donnelly echoed Bradley’s sentiments. “I am extremely proud of the Rangers who have once again done Crossmaglen and Armagh proud. I wish them the best of luck as they go forward in search of the All-Ireland title.

Commenting on reports of the racial abuse of a Rangers’ player and his father, Mr Bradley said,

“This type of behaviour is disgusting and will be condemned by all genuine fans of Gaelic games as it has been at the highest level of the Association. Those involved in it are not representative of their club nor of the GAA.

“I welcome the fact that this incident will be fully investigated and the full rigour of the rules applied to those responsible.”
