Delight as International Darts Tournament announced for Newry

The 10th annual Northern Ireland Darts Open is to be held in Newry for the fourth consecutive year. Over 600 competitors from home and abroad will compete for the Northern Ireland Title in a competition which provides ranking points for the World Dart Federation table. Competitors from over fifteen countries will compete for a variety of titles including Gents, Ladies and Pairs Mixed Pairs and Youth Singles. Sixteen of the players that will contest the WDF/BDO world championships will be at the event with Stephen Bunting current BDO world No. 1 and current World Masters Champion favourite. This is the only World Ranked event in Ireland North or South and will be the biggest individual dart event to be held this year. Over the past four years the event has been supported by the local dart community as well as Newry and Mourne District Council. It provides a magnificent opportunity for all dart fans to see top quality world class dart players at a local venue. Local dart enthusiasts are also able to compete in this tournament alongside professional dart players. The event contributes to the local community with all accommodation booked out and provides a welcome boost to local retail and eateries for the duration of the event. The event starts off with the mixed doubles on Friday night while the individual Ladies, Gents and Youth Singles held on Saturday. The event culminates on Sunday afternoon with the men’s and ladies pairs and closing ceremony. Admission is free for all spectators. The Tournament will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9th, 10th and 11th November and the Venue is Bellinis, Merchants Quay, Newry.
