Rostrevor Sinn Féin Councillor Mick Murphy has welcomed the news that a new safety device lock has been added to the children’s play park in Kilbroney Park. Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor Murphy said, “I have received a number of queries regarding this issue from concerned parents. They felt that there was a present and immediate danger to their children when playing in the park. Upon inspection I soon noticed the dangers posed to children and immediately called on the council to take the appropriate steps to remedy this problem.” He added, “With the installation of this device, which is designed in a way as to make it difficult for children to open, parents can now feel that their children are in a safe and secure play environment. I welcomed the swift reaction of the council to resolve this matter.”
