Samaritans Canal towpath walk raises £650

On 4th October a walk along the canal towpath from Jerrettspass to Newry took place. It had been coordinated by pupils from the local schools who used it to arrange sponsorship to help fund the work of the local branch of Samaritans.

Pictured at the presentation are Samaritans Paddy Mallon and Eileen Winters receiving a cheque from pupils of the school, accompanied by the Principal Mr. Hugh Mallon and Mr. Pat McParland, year head teacher

A presentation of £650 was recently made to Samaritans following the participation of St Josephs High School, Newry, in the towpath walk.

The Samaritans are very grateful to St Joseph’s High School for this much-needed donation.

Newry Samaritans are located at 19 St Coleman’s Park, are available at 028 (048) 302 66366, and can offer you emotional support when you need it.
