Warrenpoint Road recycle ‘bring site’ plant to be removed

Newry and Mourne Council would like to advise householders that due to NI Water construction works, the recycling bring site located at Warrenpoint Car Park on the Newry Road will be removed as of the 19th of October 2012.

As an alternative, residents can bring their recyclables to Warrenpoint Household Recycling Centre, on the Upper Dromore Road.

Mr. Jim McCorry, Director of Technical Services and Leisure said,

“The Council would like to sincerely thank residents for recycling at this site over the past number of years and for ultimately helping to achieve a recycling rate of 37%. Recycling banks will remain at Warrenpoint Household Recycling Centre on the Upper Dromore road for residents to continue recycling glass, cans, textiles and paper.”

Mr McCorry added, “I would also like to remind residents that glass bottles and jars along with cans and paper can all be recycled in your blue recycling bins at home.”

The Council’s Recycling Officers are offering a free white sack per household for the storage and transporting of materials to the recycling sites. These white sacks are available from the Council office in Greenbank Industrial Estate, Newry.
