NI and Ulster Juvenile Cross Country Championships launched
The NI & Ulster Juvenile Cross Country Championships at Kilbroney Forest Park has been launched this week. The championships take place on Saturday 27th October from 11.30 – 4.00pm.
Mayor John McArdle said he was delighted to announce the forthcoming Championships. “There couldn’t be a nicer, more beautiful place for people to come and take part in Cross Country running than Kilbroney.”
Ms Jennie Robinson, Admin and Events Manager for Athletics Northern Ireland was very impressed by the facilities at Kilbroney and was happy to recommend the venue to the ANI Cross Country and Road Running Committee as host of the 2012 NI & Ulster Even Age Group Cross Country Championship and Bobby Rea Memorial Cross Country.
Newry Council were successful in their bid to attract this major event to the area. There are 800 juvenile runners expected to participate in this exciting event. Rostrevor will welcome all to the event and will cater for everyone’s needs.
The park has an excellent café for refreshments with a panoramic view of the park for anyone who wants to spectate in comfort.
So come out and support these young athletes and enjoy a good family day out in Kilbroney Rostrevor.
