PSNI launch investigation after hatchet-wielding men commit armed robbery

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a commercial premises in the Dublin Road area yesterday, Wednesday 10th October.

At approximately 5.45pm, two males armed with a hatchet and hammer entered a shop and took a sum of money from the till.

Both had their heads covered with scarves over their faces and were wearing gloves. It is believed that they made off in a waiting silver Vauxhall or Opel Vectra.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
