Murphy congratulates ‘Trad for Trociare’ in St.Bronaghs

Rostrevor Sinn Féin Councillor Mick Murphy has offered his congratulations to all those involved in the ‘Trad for Trociare’ in St.Bronaghs GAA.

Speaking to Newry Times, Murphy stated,

“This event encompasses a group of local musicians and singers who are flying the flag for Down by hosting a 12 hour nonstop traditional/folk session in St Bronagh`s GAA clubroom from 12 noon to 12 midnight.

“They hope to build on the success of their last ‘Trad for Trocaire’ session in 2010 which raised a fantastic £1,800 for this worthy cause. I would like to congratulate Tommy Sands acclaimed singer/songwriter and Trad for Trocaire ambassador along with all those taking part or who have helped to make this a day to remember.”

He added, “This is another example of how the people of Rostrevor can come together to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The ‘Trad for Trocaire’ session in similar spirit contributes to a much larger world so sadly in need of a generous heart.”
