Sinn Féin MLA Mickey Brady has met with senior Health officials, John Compton and Andrew McCormick, ahead of the meeting of the Assembly’s Health Committee. Mr Brady stated: “When I questioned Mr Compton about the situation of Daisy Hill Hospital he was very positive about the vital service it provides and its future, especially the significant role of the A&E Department and the Maternity ward. “Mr Compton reiterated essentially what was said by himself and the Trust at the Patient Client Council Meeting in Newry Arts Centre on the 13th of September. He added, “I will continue to engage with Mr Compton in relation to future health provision in this area, and in Daisy Hill Hospital in particular, and I will also continue to press the case for a secure future for our local health services with the Southern Trust.”
