Sinn Féin Education Spokesperson Chris Hazzard has congratulated the Education Department on the launch of their campaign ‘Education Works Better When You Get Involved’. Mr Hazzard said, “The Department of Education needs to be congratulated and supported in their campaign to enhance and increase parents participation in their child’s learning. As several studies have shown children who learn with an active interest from their parents achieve better results.” “It is important that we keep a focus on learning and educating that begins at an early age and continues throughout schooling years. This however has to be a collaboration and partnership between children, parents and schools that will eventually lead to an agreed career path through academic or vocational excellence.” He added, “This campaign will encourage parents to participate fully in a child’s education and sets out simple steps that will make a huge difference to a child’s development. I would encourage parents to become involved in their children’s education and help them reach their potential.”
