Teenager suffers broken nose after vicious Dublin Road assault

Police in Newry are appealing for information following an assault in the Watsons Road/Glen Hill area of the city.

Around 6.30pm on Saturday, 22nd September, a 16 year old male was walking along when a dark blue Peugeot Estate car pulled up alongside him. Two males got out of the car and punched him a number of times before knocking him to the ground.

The teenager sustained a broken nose and cuts and bruising.

The car is described as being dark blue in colour with patches of grey undercoat around the bodywork. It also had a distinctive noisy sounding exhaust. The vehicle is believed to have driven off in the direction of Doran’s Hill, Newry.

Police say the assault was unprovoked and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the attack or has information in relation to the vehicle to contact them in Newry on 0845 600 8000.
