Newry prepares for first ‘Positive Ageing Week’

The community of Newry and Mourne is preparing to host its first Positive Ageing Week running from the 8th to 14th of October 2012.

The focus of the week is to celebrate and promote the positive aspects of growing old and to recognise the valuable contribution older people make within our communities.

Events during the week are being hosted by senior citizen groups, and community voluntary organisations. You can come along to any of the events to get a taster of some of the activities that are happening in your local community.

Examples of events that will be taking place are tea dances, pitch and putt, dancing in the Forresters, new age Kurling and much much more!

You might already be running activities that could tie in with the week or maybe you would like to host an event that week. To find out more about positive aging week or to inform the Trust about an activity you are planning which you would like to be included in the Positive Ageing Week Calendar of Events.
