Newry Samaritans launch Suicide Prevention Week
To mark National Suicide Awareness Week , 9th – 15th September 2012, the Samaritans in Newry have issued an open invitation to all to join them on Sunday 9th September to enjoy some live music and promotions in support of this very special date in the Samaritans calendar.
Speaking to Newry Times, a spokesperson for the Samaritans in Newry said: “Every year we hold an event such as this so that anyone in the local community whose lives have been touched in any way by suicide can join us to help raise awareness of Samaritans and the services we offer.
“Our service is confidential, emotional support to anyone experiencing feelings of distress, isolation or despair, including those that may lead to suicide. This service is available to all, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year”
