Mckevitt calls on Roads Service to clean up footpaths and roads

SDLP South Down MLA Karen McKevitt and SDLP Councillor Sean O’Hare are calling on the Roads Service to address the overgrowth and grass roots along footpaths and roads in the area of Barnmeen, Rathfriland and Hilltown.

Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor O’Hare said “We take great pride in our local areas and neglect of our pathways just make the area very untidy. It wouldn’t cost much for Roads Service to keep the standard that locals are accustomed too.”

McKevitt added, “We have made representations to Roads Service calling for them to take action and have received assurances that a clean-up of these areas will be undertaken as soon as possible.”
