Rostrevor Vintage Club to hold 8th Annual Threshing Day

Rostrevor and District Vintage Club will hold their 8th Annual Threshing Day on Saturday 18th August to celebrate old time trades and crafts, with proceeds going to The Southern Area Hospice Services.

The family fun day of events will kick off at 11am on Saturday 18th August with a parade of threshers and old machinery going from Killowen Village to the grounds of Killowen Chapel where there will be a variety of children’s entertainment, old time crafts, traditional music and farming demonstrations throughout the afternoon.

Events and entertainment will include music by The Brennan Boys, Decky Harpison and The Phillip Sisters; old-time crafts such as butter-churning, jam-making, bread-baking, wrought iron making and threshing among many others.

There will also be a bouncy castle and petting zoo for children as well as a dog show and even a live farm animal auction to raise much needed funds for local charity; The Southern Area Hospice Services.
