World Record set in Newry

Pictured are Official Witnesses Brian Wallace and Pat McGinn and athlete Don Travers who completed the lap that broke the existing record previously set by Relay GB.
The Guinness World Record for Relay running was broken in Newry at 4.46am on Saturday 4th August in St Colman’s, Newry Sports Complex.
The runners completed an impressive 2,680 miles of unbroken running while passing on the baton and received tremendous support from the local community.
The running continues until this Wednesday when the new record distance will be announced and sent to Guinness World Records for verification.
