PSNI launch investigation after Camlough armed robbery

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following a report of an armed robbery in the Mountain Road area of Camlough yesterday evening, Thursday 2nd August.It was reported that at approximately 9.30pm a man and woman who had been walking on Camlough Mountain were approached by two unknown males, one carrying a suspected firearm on the Carrivekeeney Road. The couple were forced to hand over their mobile phones and the keys to their car. The two men drove off in the car, a black coloured Suzuki swift.

Both men were dressed in dark clothing and had their faces covered.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area or anyone with information to contact them at Newry Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
