Corrinshego GFC Festival launched

Newry Armagh MP Conor Murphy and newly selected MLA Megan Fearon were on hand to help officially launch the Thomas Davis Corrinshego Summer Festival which takes place from 12th – 15th July.

Speaking to Newry Times, Festival Committee Chairperson Declan McGreavey explained what would be happening over the festival saying,

“The events commence on Thursday 12th July at 9pm with a Teenage Disco which will be great craic for all the young people of the area. This is followed on Friday night with a boxing extravaganza which will pit the Sacred Heart Boxing Club against All Ireland Select boxers. Special guest at this event will be Irish Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury and the buzz about Tyson joining us has been unbelievable.”

“On Saturday evening we have RTE’s very own Adrian Knight, who will be performing some of his best hypnotic tricks on participants so that promises to be a great laugh. Our Festival concludes on Sunday with a Fun Day for all the family and the Tomas Daibhis Road Walk and Challenge which starts at Corrinshego GFC at 2pm, also finishing at the club.”

Thomas Davis Chairperson Tony Havern stated,

“We are really excited about the festival and we hope to see lots of people with us over the duration. Hopefully the weather will be good but either way people are sure to enjoy any events in our programme which they attend.”

Sinn Féin MLA Megan Fearon added,

“This festival at Corrinshego is a great display of community spirit and I want to commend the organisers on what they have achieved so far. I’m sure all of the events will be well attended and I wish them a fantastic four days.”
