Newry Council enter partnership In European-wide project

Newry and Mourne Councillor Charley Casey has signed a partnership agreement between Newry and Mourne District Council and Municipality of Nieuwegein, the Netherlands to deliver the INTERREG IVC Labour Plus Project.

Co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the project aims to improve employment policies for disadvantaged groups, including migrants and Roma/Travelers. Other European partners include councils and agencies from Italy, Belgium, Latvia, Spain, Hungary Germany and Bulgaria.

Welcoming the initiative, Casey said that the Council was honoured to be a partner in such an innovative and prestigious project involving local authorities right across Europe.
