Rain, Rain go away!

After what has been another disappointing summer to date weather-wise, with unending spells of rain, lack of sunshine and flooding it couldn’t possibly get much worse.

But guess what is forecasted for next week? Yes that’s right…more rain. Despite our local retail outlets being stocked with barbeque equipment, sun lotions and colourful ensembles we have not had much chance to get the BBQ fired up or put our new summer outfits on for a night out, without taking our coats! Aspray property services has experienced a busier than usual summer due to the flash floods last week, particularly in the Belfast region.

Unfortunately, numerous homes were badly affected by the floods with hundreds of people being forced out of their homes for the next few months in temporary accommodation. Several homes had some unwelcome visitors including local sewage residents and as a result several homes will have to undertake a decontamination process for health and safety purposes.

Maria Crilly (Aspray Claims Advisor) stated, “We are working quickly to get homes cleaned, decontaminated and dried as soon as possible so we can commence the repair work and essentially get home owners and tenants back into their properties. It can be a very stressful time to be to be put out of your home, lose your possessions and see the physical damage that remains. Aspray ensure to look after the claim completely so the client does not have to deal with their insurance company whatsoever and our project managers work closely with our contractors to ensure all the contract work is completed to the highest standard.”

She added, “Once we have finished we simply invoice the insurance company for all our repair work so we do not cost the policy holder any extra cost.”

If you have been affected by flooding, water/leak damage, fire/smoke damage or if you just need some advice give us a call. Contact our local office on (028) 40631245 or our 24 Hour number 0800 077 6704 or visit us at www.aspray.com/ni and we can promise a complimentary survey within 24 hours.

We removed all flooring, skirting boards and furniture from the ground floor of the property and we are currently drying the property with our dehumidifiers which could take several weeks. After the property has been dried property we can begin relaying new floors, painting and completing all necessary work required.
